Phone calls for inmates at the Lankaran Penitentiary Complex have been restricted

Imprisoned journalists from “Abzas Media” write that the twice-weekly phone calls for inmates are not being provided due to the prison's staff shortage.

This restriction makes it difficult for inmates to communicate with their families:

There are some people who have to speak with their families specifically at 11 a.m. Our parents and other relatives work, they can't talk at every hour of the day. Everyone has their own schedule. One person can talk at 11 a.m., another in the afternoon. But the conditions for this aren't there. They say, “we don't have a staff member”.

Journalists write that all prisoners are given a total of 2 hours of calling time per day, and everyone is required to use the phone only within this period.
